Road trips with kids can be challenging any time of year. As you gear up for holiday travel, you may want to consider bringing along a cookie sheet! They don’t take up much space and can serve a variety of purposes. Check out my list of 5 Creative Ways to Entertain Your Kids with a Cookie Sheet in the car. Tip: Buy cookie sheets on the cheap at The Dollar Store.

It’s a Chalkboard! Spray paint a cookie sheet with chalkboard paint (find this at craft stores). Bring along some chalk so the kids can have hours of fun drawing and playing games like Tic-Tac-Toe.

It’s a Game Board! A cookie sheet is the perfect surface to play games on your lap. Print pictures of your favorite board games (Google them online) and laminate. Use magnets as game pieces.

It’s a Lap Desk! Bring along your crayons and coloring books. A cookie sheet makes a great lap desk for coloring and drawing.

It’s a Magnet Board! Use ABC magnets to practice letters and spelling words. Any sort of fun magnets will also do the trick. Kids enjoy playing with all types of magnets and the cookie sheet is a fun magnet board.

It’s a Snack Tray! Eating in the car can be messy. Keep crumbs contained when you use a cookie sheet as a snack tray.

What are your favorite ways to keep the kids entertained on road trips? Feel free to share your ideas in the comments.
