DIY Father’s Day Ideas: Root Beer Sampler Gift Basket

June 3, 2013 by Nicole

Is there anyone harder to shop for than a dad? It’s not that they are that picky about gifts…it’s something I can’t quite put my finger on. Maybe I just like to make sure to get Dad something he will really enjoy and use.

Do you make or buy your Father’s Day gifts? If you are looking for a Father’s Day gift idea that you can easily put together yourself, consider making Dad a Root Beer Sampler Gift Basket. I got a medium size container from the dollar store and went to the store and bought bottled root beer. The more variety, the better. You can really “go all out” and visit an international grocery store or World Market near you to find root beers from other countries!

My dad and my husband both love to drink root beer, so I know they will enjoy this Root Beer gift basket. If you want to add even more variety, tuck a few of their favorite candy bars or nuts into the basket.

What else could we add to our gift basket? Does your dad enjoy root beer or does he have another favorite beverage? Feel free to share your dad’s day gift ideas in the comments below.

What a great idea for a gift basket. This gives me a great idea for the grand kids gift baskets on Easter. They love pop but don’t get a lot of it. So what a special gift basket this would make.

I adore this! So doing it for my dad + a Home Depot gift card. He just rescently shave off his 30 year mustache… So, I’m doing the sign too. Thank you! ❤ Jen @CarseatDancers

This is such a cute idea to fill a bucket with Dad’s favorite drinks. I think that I will do this. My dad like all flavors of pop, and I could get him some of his favorites and put them in a bucket. I just love this idea!

This is a great gift idea, but I would definitely have to throw a few snacks in, and maybe a glass mug.

You are so creative! I would add some nuts and maybe some fun coasters or a frosty mug. Thanks for the idea!

I just find it harder to buy for men period. And my hubby and son are so hard to buy for it makes me want to bang my head against the wall. They don’t wear jewelry, watches or cologne. That leaves…well not much other than clothes. I really like this idea. I could add some popcorn and a movie perhaps. I wonder where I could get some “boutique” type root beer? Something other than IBC or A&W. Hope you don’t mind, but I am going to use this idea for a couple of my son’s friends for Christmas too! Thanks!

What a fantastic idea. I love how unique this would be for a Father’s day gift. I love giving homemade gifts. It just shoes that you put some thought into the gift. I might add a bag or two of nuts to it. My husband loves peanuts. Thanks for the idea.
