October is Energy Awareness month and a great time to look around your home for ways to conserve energy. Best Buy offers thousands of ENERGY STAR® certified products that can help you conserve energy and save on energy costs.
If you are upgrading your appliances, ENERGY STAR APPLIANCES are the way to go. Newer appliances use less energy and can save you a lot of money on your energy bills. A few years ago, I noticed a huge decrease in our electric bill when we bought an ENERGY STAR certified dryer. Over time, it practically paid for itself with the money we saved.
The average household spends $2,200 per year on energy bills. Have you ever wondered exactly how much money you could save with ENERGY STAR appliances? Find out how much you can save HERE.
A LITTLE KNOWN MONEY-SAVING TIP THAT HELPS YOU SAVE BIG:
I recently found out that besides saving money by having energy smart appliances, many local utility companies offer additional rebates that can save you up to $300! Check out the Best Buy Rebate Finder to see what ENERGY STAR Rebates are available in your area.
My family loves to shop at Best Buy. Shop thousands of ENERGY STAR certified products in stores and online. October is a great time to go ahead and upgrade to a new appliance, computer or television to help you save money on energy bills.
My ENERGY STAR Top 3 Wish List at Best Buy:
- My family would love to watch the football games this season on a new Samsung 60″ HDTV. It would also be awesome for family movie night.
- Our laptop is on its last legs…I’d love to upgrade to the HP-ENVY TouchSmart Sleekbook 15.6″ Touch-Screen Laptop.
- The washer hasn’t died (yet) but when it does, I’ll be taking a closer look at the LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. 8-Cycle Ultralarge-Capacity High-Efficiency Top-Loading Washer. It’s such a pretty machine, it may make me look forward to doing the laundry!

I didn’t know that energy companies gave rebates for energy-efficient appliances. That’s great!! There’s really no better time to go “green” … there are so many incentives to do so. It’s a total win-win situation … good for us, good for the planet!

I would love to get a new fridge that is Energy Star compliant. I am not even sure if our current model is Energy Star compliant.
