Skin Care Tips: Exfoliation Plus a Reviva Labs Natural Skin Care Product #Giveaway

Each month I receive a Reviva Labs newsletter that includes skin care insights by Stephen Strassler (founder and president of Reviva Labs).  July’s focus was on exfoliation.  I learned that a good skin care regimen involves regular exfoliation, the removal of dead skin cells at the surface.  Weekly exfoliation is essential because:

  • Dead skin cells accumulate and dull the complexion
  • Dead skin cells prevent smooth skin texture
  • Dead skin cells cause bacteria, dust and toxins to collect in pores, causing blemishes
  • Dead skin cells block skin care products, thus making them ineffective

Exfoliation is vital for every skin type and age, especially acne prone and aging skin.

My experience with Reviva Labs Non-Chemical Light Skin Peel

I have oily, acne prone skin especially during the summer months. I need regular exfoliation to keep my skin clearer, which is why I was eager to try the Light Skin Peel.  To me, the words “skin peel” seem to imply doing something harsh to your skin, but I found this product as gentle as can be.  It has a thick texture and you can see and feel tiny ingredients particles as you apply it to your skin. The particles are not scratchy or abrasive at all. The product has a strong (but not bad) smell at first – it doesn’t bother me but it is something you will probably notice.  Once the mask is on, it will begin to dry and skin will feel a little tighter.

The product dries in about 3-5 minutes, then it’s ready to come off.  I thought it was unique that you can either rub it off with your fingers or a dry towel. I start out rubbing it off with my fingers (the mask flakes off easily and it’s easy to imagine the dead skin flakes coming off as I do it) and finish up with a dry towel to get the rest. My skin feels soft and smooth and looks brighter after I use the treatment.

    This is a great post with good information. I read a lot of blogs on skin care, skin health, taking care of your skin, etc. All of the first aid advice says the very first thing you should do is apply an ice pack on the bruise to decrease swelling and protect that area of the skin.
