5 Things To Consider When Shopping For a Toddler Car Seat

They actually call this removable pad a “body pillow!” I have no doubt the padded seat is going to keep my little guy feeling comfy while we’re on the road. (I am getting a little jealous – I wish I had a body pillow on my seat!) The side head rest areas are perfect for head support when he naps in the car.
  • Strap covers protect your child’s neck from being rubbed by the harness.
  • Buckle pockets turn away buckle tongues to protect against hot buckle burns. This is our first car seat ever to offer this feature – and it is really helpful on hot summer days. 
  • NASA-developed OUTLAST® Performance Fabric balances your child’s body temperature. Sitting in a car seat can sometimes make kids get hot and sweaty. The way this fabric helps keep kids at a comfy temperature is totally cool.

3. Cost.

The Evenflo Platinum Evolve 3-in-1 Combination Seat has a suggested retail price of $179.99. This is a very competitive price, especially when you consider you won’t need to buy yet another car seat as your child grows up. In addition to being three seats in one, this seat offers a lot of extra features (see #5) at a wonderful price point. The Evenflo Platinum Evolve is an excellent value in my opinion.

4. Quality.

Evenflo Evolve Car Seat Review

My son (age 4) uses the Evenflo Platinum Evolve 3-in-1 Combination Seat seat in the 5-Point Harness mode (22-65 lbs.) I feel that he is safest when he is buckled into the 5-point harness, and love that this car seat allows him to buckle into a 5-point harness until he is 65 pounds! He has plenty of room to grow.

Eventually, we will transition the car seat to a Belt-Positioning Booster and/or the No Back Booster. The Belt-Positioning and No Back Booster modes are for children 40-120 lbs and 44-57 inches. He can and will use the Evenflo Evolve seat all the way through riding to elementary school.
