Now that the kids are out of school, we are able to go on some summer road trips. We almost always forget to bring the kids’ toothbrushes because I don’t pack them ahead of time in case the kids need to brush their teeth before we leave the house. In the hustle and bustle to get out the door, I forget to go back and grab their toothbrushes. So I’m trying something new this time around. I put together a simple travel toothbrush kit for each child. Each self-contained kit includes everything they need to brush, floss and rinse.
I found inexpensive but sturdy plastic cups with a lid to use as the container. The kids can use their cup as a rinsing cup when they brush their teeth. Each cup contains a kids toothbrush, travel size tube of toothpaste, floss and a small bottle of LISTERINE® SMART RINSE® mouthwash for kids. I refilled an empty travel sized LISTERINE® bottle with the SMART RINSE®. Just for fun, I printed a cute name label for the outside of the cup. It may not last long, but it will be fun while it lasts.
I am so glad that I can just grab these travel toothbrush kits and pack them ahead of time. It seems like such a simple solution I should have thought of a long time ago. We will see how well it ends up working for us during our travels this summer.
DIY Travel Toothbrush Kit for Kids
What You Will Need:
- A plastic cup with a lid
- Your favorite kids toothpaste
- LISTERINE® SMART RINSE® mouthwash
- Dental Floss
All you need to do is open the lid, stick everything inside and put the lid back on the cup. The kids know to put everything back inside the cup when they are finished so that it will be ready for next time.
*TIP: Be sure to pick a cup that is tall enough to close with the toothbrush inside. I actually took the cup into the store with me and made sure it was big enough to hold everything.
It is important for me to remember to pack my toothbrush and oral care products, too. My husband and I use LISTERINE® TOTAL CARE® and LISTERINE® TOTAL CARE ZERO®.
