A home water cooler is one of those appliances that you don’t realize just how handy it is until you get one. At least that is how it was for me at my house. My kids are always drawn like magnets to water coolers at offices and other people’s houses. They like being able to get their own drinks, and a water cooler dispenser makes it simple for them. I have been trying to drink more water every day, and I like drinking filtered water instead of tap water. A home water cooler was a great choice for us.
NewAir WCD-200W Hot & Cold Water Cooler
We have the NewAir WCD-200W model from Air N Water. This home and office water cooler is a slim design that can hold standard size 3 or 5 gallon bottles . My family uses it as a 5 gallon water cooler so I don’t have to switch out the bottles as often.
Where do you buy 3- and 5- gallon water bottles to use with water coolers?
Some people like the convenience of a water jug delivery service. Others buy the refillable 3- and 5- gallon bottles at their local grocery store. I do the second option. When my water bottles are empty, I take them back to the store and switch them out. It’s really easy.
The NewAir WCD-200W is an economical choice for a home water cooler. It’s currently on sale with free shipping at Air-N-Water.com. There’s a 30 day, money back guarantee with hassle-free returns. Try it out and see how you like it, risk-free. Save 10% off with coupon code SAVE10
You’ll want to get a water cooler like this one because it has stainless steel reservoirs ensures a plastic-free taste. I also appreciate how easy it is to set up from the get-go. All I really needed to do was take it out of the box, set a 5 gallon water jug on top and plug it in. When the water jug is empty, simply remove it and replace with a full one.
The NewAir WCD-200W has two separate faucets – one is for cold and the other is for hot water. The water cooler will need to be placed on a level floor surface with access to an electrical socket. We put ours in a convenient spot in our kitchen/dining area. I like that there is a switch on the back of the water cooler that lets me turn off the hot water heater when we don’t need it. There is also a dual hot water child safety feature. The water cooler runs quietly. I really don’t ever notice the sound, but I would describe it as a low hum similar to a refrigerator.
Great Reasons To Get a Home Water Cooler
These are a few of the things I have noticed going on at my house ever since we got a home water cooler. I think they are great reasons to get one for your home.
1. We drink more water.
Filtered water tastes better than our tap water so we want to drink more. A water cooler dispenser is convenient for everyone to use. My younger kids can fill their own water bottles and cups.
2. We save money.
It is cheaper to buy water in 3- and 5-gallon refillable jugs versus buying individual water bottles. I buy our water cooler bottles at my local grocery store and Walmart.
3. We live green.
We use refillable water bottles instead of individual plastic water bottles for drinking water. This saves a lot of waste from going to landfills if the bottles don’t get recycled.
Easy Halloween “Costume” Ideas For Water Coolers
Our NewAir WCD-200W Water Cooler sits in the kitchen. As we were putting up Halloween decorations, we realized that it would be so easy to give our water cooler a Halloween makeover. So far, our water cooler has been a mummy, a monster and a minion! I have plans to turn it into a pumpkin next using orange crepe paper.
It only takes a few minutes to dress up your home water cooler for Halloween. All you need is a roll of crepe paper to wrap the water jug, construction paper to cut out for eyes, and tape to keep everything in place. For the mummy: You’ll need white crepe paper and construction paper. Cut out 2 white circles and 2 black circles (make the black circles smaller than the white circles.) Wrap the crepe paper around the jug, securing with tape as needed. Tape on the eyes. For the minion: Wrap the water jug in yellow crepe paper. Use a gray marker to outline the outside of the white circles of the eyeballs to look like goggles. Tape on the eyeballs/goggles. Cut out a simple mouth shape from black construction paper and tape on. Use a length of black crepe paper for the goggles strap. For the monster: Wrap the jug in black crepe paper. Cut out any shape of eyeballs. I found a pair of huge googly eyes at the dollar store and taped those on.
