AFTER by Anna Todd took internet readers by storm – the story has already been read more than a BILLION times on Wattpad. Millions of fans buzzed about AFTER, which caught the attention of major book publisher Simon & Schuster. They are turning the story into a four-book series. The first book was released in October 2014. AFTER is currently heading for the big screen via Paramount Pictures.
True Story: This amazing series was written entirely from a phone!
The whirlwind success of AFTER is an amazing story. Last spring, Anna Todd began writing the #AfterSaga series as a hobby – entirely from her phone! The story combined 25-year-old Anna’s superfan adoration for boy band “One Direction” with her love of reading. Every few days, she published a new installment using Wattpad (a free social reading and writing app) under the pen name Imaginator1D. Her fanfic story grew to more than 2,500 pages and has received more than six million comments so far.
The plot of AFTER revolves around young Tessa and her on-again, off-again relationship with Hardin Scott, inspired by One Direction singer Harry Styles.

MORE ABOUT WATTPAD
What’s this thing called Wattpad? That was my first question after hearing Anna’s story, too! I love to read, but somehow missed the Wattpad boat until now.
Wattpad is a new community of readers and writers that has connected more than 40 million people worldwide (and counting!). It’s a free way to read and share stories from your phone, tablet or computer. I think the coolest feature is the way readers are connected with the writer. Readers receive notifications whenever a new chapter of a story is posted. Many writers post the story serially (chapter by chapter) so readers will keep coming back. As soon as a story is uploaded, it can be accessed by millions of readers around the world.
There are more than 80 million free stories available on Wattpad in more than 50 languages. Check it out for yourself today!

That is an interesting way to write a book, but shows the importance of technology.

Huh! Just think how far cell phones have come. This is a great example of the capabilities of today’s smartphone!

I know – is there anything that can’t be done from the phone nowadays? I can’t imagine typing out a whole book on my phone though. I need at least a laptop just to write a blog post. LOL
