Here’s a fun fact: Super Bowl Sunday is the 2nd largest eating day of the year after Thanksgiving. Americans love to gather together and eat – and the Super Bowl is the perfect excuse to down our favorite Game Day foods.
What will you be eating on Super Bowl Sunday? Football foods from hotdogs to cheeseburgers and fries pair well with another all-American tradition: Heinz® Tomato Ketchup.

Heinz Tomato Ketchup is one of the main ingredients in my famous (at least they are famous around my house) Slow Cooker Meatballs. This recipe is one of the ways my family likes to eat Heinz Ketchup on Game Day.
Meatballs are easy appetizers to make for a crowd. I like to keep a bag of frozen meatballs on hand to use in this meatball appetizer recipe. This slow cooker meatball recipe makes easy and delicious party appetizers. If we’re serving these on Game Day, I simply keep the crock pot on low so the meatballs stay warm for the entire game.
Ingredients
Makes about 10.5 dozen meatballs
1 cup apple juice
1 cup grape jelly
1 cup Heinz ketchup
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 package (64 ounces) frozen fully-cooked Italian meatballs
In a small saucepan, combine the apple juice, grape jelly, Heinz ketchup and tomato sauce. Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly, until jelly is melted.
Place meatballs in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Pour sauce over the top and stir to coat. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until heated through.

I have been looking for new slow cooker recipes since it’s so cold in Michigan right now. I had slow cooker meatballs at my friend’s house and they were delicious. Your recipe looks so easy! I’m bookmarking it and will try it this month.

I do not have the grape jelly or Apple juice, but I have all the other ingredients and this looks like such a delicious way to make Meatballs. I love that it is made in the Slow Cooker. I will have to try these soon. Thanks for sharing!

It’s really easy and good – you can substitute a different flavor jelly and juice if you have it. Maybe try apple or strawberry jelly with grape juice if you have those around.
