Mom Always Finds Out received free products from Laptop Lunches for a bento boxes for kids lunches review. All opinions expressed in this blog post are my own.
Today I did something that I have never done in my 4 year history of making school lunches. I used a mini cookie cutter to turn alices of cheese into train shapes. It is such a simple thing to do to make my child’s lunch more fun and exciting. And little touches like that are what lots of parents are doing these days. If you want to see some truly creative (and healthy!) kids bento lunches, all you have to do is look on Pinterest.
I’m a beginner when it comes to making bento lunches. But getting started is easy. All it takes are a few simple tools and the right sized containers like the ones you find at Laptop Lunches. We recently got the Bento Lunch Box in Berry Blue ($23,99). The outer container is a hard square box (so nothing inside gets smooshed) and there are 5 inner containers for foods. The containers are leakproof and Made in the USA from food safe materials.
I like that a bento lunch box encourages kids to enjoy a variety of foods. It’s good to keep a stock of healthy foods like fruits and veggies at home. My very first bento lunch box includes the train-shaped cheese, crackers, dried strawberries and bananas, an orange, black olives and a cereal bar. It did not take me any longer to put this together than it would a “regular” lunch box.
The Laptop Lunches Bento Lunch Box is easy to clean – it’s dishwasher safe on the top rack. Another bonus of bento box lunches is that you don’t need to buy plastic baggies anymore. My children’s school encourages them to bring Zero Waste lunches because it is better for the environment. Bento box lunches are a great way to be eco-friendly.
