I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Discover Boating. I received collateral to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
I was recently selected to be a Discover Boating Ambassador. Not because I’m an expert boater, but because I am a beginner looking forward to learning how to have fun on the water! My family started boating just last year. Recreational boating is a great way to enjoy the outdoors with your family and friends. We have a small boat that we like to take out on the local reservoirs for quick and easy getaways. I am excited to go boating this summer and share our experiences with you.
Does your family like to boat? Have you ever thought about boating but did not know where to begin? Discover Boating is a nonprofit program devoted to helping people learn how to get on the water and experience recreational boating. Eighty-eight million Americans went boating in 2012! You can do it, too. Check out Discover Boating’s Get Started page for all sorts of information including a Beginner’s Guide, Boating Videos, Rent Before You Buy and more.
Father’s Day is coming up, why not plan a boating adventure with dad or grandpa this summer? Need a little inspiration to show you why life is better with a boat? Watch the “Good Run,” a short film directed by Academy Award nominated director Wally Pfister, that celebrates memories made taking life’s journey by boat.

We always had a boat when I was growing up. Lots of fond memories of being out on lakes and catching fish.

I would love to be a boating family but we don’t have any boats or watercraft. I would love to have a jet ski. I got to do this once and it was so much fun.

This sounds fun in theory, but I have a history of seasickness when it comes to being on a boat. I might stay on the shore…the rest of my family would enjoy a boating outing though!

We live in the mountains so I don’t get to be on a boat much anymore but I used to love it when we were closer to water! I think this is a great program to get people excited about boating!

We had a houseboat when I was growing up and some of my fondest memories were with my family on that boat! We would fish, play games, cook, eat, swim and just have fun. I would love nothing more than to be able to recapture those moments.
