World Map Puzzle by Janod (Ages 7+)
My family was invited to select a Brilliance Award Winner to bring home and we chose the World Map Puzzle by Janod. Although it is recommended for ages 7 and up, even my 4-year-old was very interested in this puzzle from the get-go. This magnetic, colorful world map teaches continents, countries and animals. My three oldest children (4, 6 and 9 years old) and I have spent hours figuring out where each magnetic puzzle piece country goes on the map. Once we are finished, they are ready to take them off and do it again.
This is one of the most interactive and fun ways to learn world geography. I like how the puzzle pieces are illustrated to show what kinds of things are found there (like Giraffes in Africa and the Taj Mahal in India). The Janod puzzle can easily be hung on a home or classroom wall. It measures 30.3 inches by 18.1 inches. We are very happy with this selection.
