I was just telling a friend the other day that once Halloween hits, it’s pretty much already Christmas! There is so much to be done during the holiday season. Shopping, decorating, celebrating…the list goes on and on. I usually like to spread out the shopping bit because I can’t afford to pay for everyone’s presents in one big hit. My wallet would implode!
That’s where a FREE Layaway contract can really help out. Now is the perfect time to start shopping so that you can pay over time. Most Layaway contracts are eight weeks long, so putting big (or small) items on Layaway now gives you time to pay and have your gifts in plenty of time for the holidays.
Still need convincing? Here are a few ‘Layaway Lessons’ to keep in mind:
- You are using a Christmas tree that was around for the Clinton Administration. It’s time to update your decor! Pick up a pre-lit tree (because that’s the way to go), LED lights, wreaths and village houses now and pay them off in time for decking those halls!
- Your gift list has grown. Maybe you’ve found a new group of friends, entered into a new family or you’re just feeling extra generous this year. Long gift lists call for Layaway. Fill that cart to the brim and roll it over to the Layaway counter. Your pals won’t know you paid their gifts off over time.
- Money is tight this year. It’s not just you; many of us are watching our spending. If you’re having trouble staying afloat while keeping those bills paid, Layaway is a must. Not only will you avoid ‘wallet shock,’ you’ll keep your pre-holiday peace of mind.
Whether you have one or 100 items , you can Layaway almost everything on your list without paying a service fee through November 23 at Kmart. Plus, you can pay in store, online or using a mobile phone. Eight or 12 weeks later (depending on your contract) pick up your items and you’re good to go! Bonus: After you figure out how easy it is, you can Layaway all year round at Kmart.
It’s time to check out the ways that the Kmart Layaway Every Day program can help you!

Our K-Mart closed a few years ago. I sure wish they were in the area this year as layaway would have worked great for Christmas shopping.

Layaway is a great idea now only if Kmart was close to me it would be better.

Layaway is *so* much better for your budget than putting items on a credit card.

It I’s so nice of Kmart to not only still offer Layaway, but to offer FREE layaway for Christmas. This is something some other retailers should provide. But hey maybe they want Kmart to get more business.
