Cupcakes are the personal-pizza of cakes. You’d feel guilty eating an entire cake by yourself, but you never need to feel guilty about eating an entire cupcake. Chocolate cake is one of my favorite desserts, so I went looking for its miniature counterpart: chocolate cupcakes. It’s hard work trying to find the best chocolate cupcake recipe. There are many chocolate lovers’ dream cupcakes out there.

Eventually, I narrowed down my list to 15 amazing chocolate cupcakes. I know you will want take a bite out of every single one. I know I do! Some of the cupcakes in my recipe collection also include a cupcake frosting recipe (like the one for Chocolate Buttercream) that are definitely worth a visit for the frosting alone.
I have always wondered how fancy bakeries decorate their cupcakes to make the frosting so thick and swirly and 3 inches tall. I tried using my cake decorating tips to do it and failed miserably. Then I found out at least one of the secrets to decorating cupcakes like a pro. Use jumbo-sized decorating tips! There is no way I was ever going to be able to get the look of a bakery cupcake using my normal size cake decorator tips. Now that I know about the existence of huge cake decorator tips, I am going to get some and see if my homemade cupcakes turn out any fancier.
