It’s easy and fun to turn old magazines into a tree! If you have older kids, this is one holiday craft they can do all by themselves. It doesn’t take long at all to create these homemade decorations and everyone will wonder how you did it! So round up some magazines (any size will do) and follow these directions to make your upcycled magazine tree.
All you have to turn your magazine into a tree is fold every page of the magazine in a 3-step process (written out and shown in pictures below) then tape or glue the front cover to the back cover pages.
Optional Ideas:
- Embellish your tree by gluing a small ornament on top.
- Spray paint your tree in a holiday color (such as gold) and while the paint is still wet, sprinkle it with glitter. Allow to dry.
How to Fold Magazine Pages Step One: Fold individual page from top right corner to inside seam.
How to Fold Magazine Pages Step Two: Fold same page towards the inside seam, stopping halfway and making a crease.
How to Fold Magazine Pages Step Three: Fold the bottom triangle of the same page up to the bottom edge.
Repeat Steps One, Two and Three until every page has been folded.
