I was playing around with my orange craft pumpkin and a silver Sharpie the other day. Although the Chevron design was looking cute, I just wasn’t clicking with the colors of this pumpkin. And I had a can of black spray paint that I was just dying to use on something.
So out this little orange pumpkin went along with a few dollar store craft pumpkins. I had spray painted those little guys silver a few weeks ago…but recently decided they just were not fitting in with the rest of my black and white pumpkin decor.
Besides the black spray paint I was so looking forward to using, I also had few packets of glitter lying around. I wanted to see what would happen when I tossed it onto the wet spray-painted pumpkins. Turns out, it made them look super cute. Or at least I think so.
You really don’t need many directions to do this project yourself at home. Just gather your materials: Craft pumpkins, Black spray paint, and Glitter (mine was orange and multi-colored). Take your pumpkins outside and give them a light coat of black paint.
Next, you’ll have to work fast to get the glitter on immediately after you spray paint the pumpkins. The spray paint needs to be wet for the glitter to stick. I sprinkled glitter at the top part of the pumpkin and let it fall where it wanted to. Allow it to dry and your pumpkin is ready to join the rest of your Halloween decor.
Tip: If you don’t like your results the first time, simply spray paint the pumpkin and try again.

I love this idea. Your pumpkins look so good. I definitely have to try this. I have some fake pumpkins in my closet that are just right for this. Thanks for the idea.

You can’t beat this craft considering you start with dollar store pumpkins & add glitter & spray paint. I love the white and black monogrammed pumpkins.

I’ve never tried to spray paint pumpkins, but it would be fun to do it this year.
We are really excited about Halloween already and have been talking about hosting a party. Would it work to also add some glittery painted leaves to the pumpkins? That would look pretty too.
