December 21 is one of my favorite days of the year in Alaska – it’s Winter Solstice, which means my days are going to be getting longer from here on out! Right now, our days are very short – about 5 hours long. I’ll enjoy every second that gets added to my days from here on out.
Today’s morning sun shining on the mountaintops could not have been more beautiful. I went outside to take pictures of the gorgeous pink hues on the snowy mountains and ended up with pictures of my little tag-along (he snuck outside in his pajamas). At least he has finally figured out how to put on his snow boots by himself.

What a great shot! I am glad that it isn’t overcast and miserable today. All the high winds knocking our power out multiple times this month makes it hard to ‘enjoy’ Alaska right now.
Thanks for sharing and linking up to the Curious hop.

I was so happy to see the blue sky today too – it’s been awhile since the sun has actually been out, which I think is why I noticed the pink light coming through the window out of the corner of my eye this morning. It was such a great sight – plus hey, we have reason to celebrate today in the North — our days will be getting longer from here on out! yay!
So sorry you have been losing power. We have had lots of wind too but only lost power a couple times (knock on wood!).
