Hide ’em & Hatch ’em Eggs
It’s not Easter yet – but even I could not resist the temptation to hatch one of the Hide ’em & Hatch ’em Eggs. These toys are so cool – no wonder they are the #1 Bestseller in Easter and Learning Toys on Amazon.
Haven’t heard of Hide ’em & Hatch ’em Eggs yet? These are the latest and greatest thing every kid will want to find in their Easter baskets this year. There are 3 pastel colored eggs in each set that contain a hidden pet inside (bonus points for being a budget-friendly toy, the eggs are less than $5 each).
What You Do: Simply place an egg in water and watch it hatch! The eggshell takes about 6-12 hours to break apart, and then the pet will begin to grow. After the eggshell is completely broken, you can change the water and keep you pet in there to watch it continue to grow. Or you can remove your pet (a chick, duckling or bunny) and play with it.
The Hide ’em & Hatch ’em Eggs really do hatch like magic! We watched our egg hatch over the course of a day and a night and it was a lot of fun. My kindergartener has already whisked our little chick toy away for Show & Tell at school. In fact, tomorrow I’m taking an unhatched egg in to his teacher so his whole class can watch it hatch.
These are so fun – I definitely recommend them for Easter baskets everywhere! And did I mention these make a wonderful non-candy Easter basket stuffer? Yet another point in favor of Hide ’em & Hatch ’em Eggs!

These look better than your standard on-a-rack-at-the-drugstore-$0.99 ‘growing pet’ toys. How well do they hold up to play?
Nicole says
I think they are better than the usual growing types of toys/pets and our chick seem to be holding up just fine – I can best describe it as feeling like rubber. Hope that helps! The hatching process is really fun, too. It takes a while (hours and hours to crack and then break) but the kids found it really exciting to watch it progress.

OK, thanks for the reply! I’ll have to see if I can track some of these down!

Amazing! I bet the kids will love these- they get to watch the eggs do something and also get something at the end. I am going to look for these!
