Flawless Skin For Spring ~ Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Complexion Kit

March 20, 2013 by Nicole 9 Comments

Look like you were born with flawless skin when you use Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Complexion Kit. This mineral makeup is a healthy choice for your skin because it does not contain chemical dyes, petroleum-based oils, fragrances or fillers.

Pur Minerals Complexion Kit ($39)

I always love a makeup kit because it helps take the guess work out of buying makeup, plus it lets me try several products at once. The 4-in-1 kit comes with everything you need to instantly improve your skin’s appearance:

  • Mineral-tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
  • Liquid 14-hour Wear Foundation SPF15
  • Pressed Mineral Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF15
  • Disappearing Act

You will also receive a 5th Bonus Item: a Neutral Primer Packet.

I tried wearing the Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Complexion Kit and…

I think the Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Complexion Kit is best for someone who is looking for a medium to heavy coverage and does not mind feeling like they are wearing makeup. The makeup does not feel uncomfortably “heavy,” but I could feel that I was wearing a foundation on my skin. I do not like to feel my makeup, so this kit is not for me…at least it is not something I would use as my every day makeup. I could see myself using it on special occasions when I wanted my skin to look its absolute best. The Pur Minerals Complexion kit does instantly cover a variety of skin flaws and imperfections including uneven tones, large pores and blemishes.

Another problem I had was the Pur Minerals Medium Complexion Kit was too dark for my Fair to Medium skin, especially the Tinted Moisturizer. The Moisturizer seemed to have a darker pigment in it than the Foundation! I was not able to use it at all. I felt that the products in this kit seemed a bit too dark for what I would consider a “Medium” complexion. Perhaps I would have had a more positive overall experience with the 4-in-1 Complexion Kit if the shades had matched my skin better. I will definitely give the Light Kit a try next time.

The Bottom Line:

If your skin needs something more than just a light coverage makeup to help hide imperfections, you may want to give Pur Minerals Complexion Kit a try. You will get a medium to heavy coverage depending on how you choose to apply the products. The 4-in-1 kit contains the essential Pur Minerals beauty products for flawless-looking skin for less than $40 (actual value of included products sold separately is $87).

What The Kit Does Not Contain (But I Wish It Did)

It would be helpful if the 4-in-1 Complexion Kit came with an application brush. If you do not already have one, you will need to get one. I got the best results when I applied this makeup with a brush instead of my fingertips.

Where To Buy:

Pur Minerals is available at many online beauty retailers, including Ulta.com.

I like the Pur Minerals Complexion Kit= The item I like the most is the Mineral-tinted Moisturizer SPF 20! I will have to look at Ulta for this. I like the kit a lot!

I’ve never tried Pur minerals make up, but I do know that they are a brand that are considered top quality and praised by beauticians. I don’t like the feel of wearing make up, just as you said, so I’m not sure if everything in the kit would be a product that I would heavily use. I’m mainly concerned about testing out Pur’s primer and moisturizer. If I do get it, I will make sure to get the color that most closely resembles my skin tone.

Sounds like a good product. I like that it has no dyes but I wonder if it still does animal testing.?/

Good questions – I am trying to find out. I don’t see anything either way on their website about animal testing. Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

I just purchased this kit and I was actually wondering what order you are supposed to put the products on in. I usually just wear a foundation so this is new to me, thanks!

Hi Amanda, Great question! I can tell you the order I used them in & I actually skip using the tinted moisturizer right now because the Medium shade is too dark for my skin. But before anything, I use a moisturizer with SPF. Wait 3-5 minutes for that to sink in and then move on to Step 1: primer all over face.(their sample is small, so skip that if you have already used it or don’t have a primer). Step 2: Concealer where needed. Step 3: Liquid Foundation all over face. *If you like to use a finishing powder, apply it now to seal your makeup for the day. (a finishing powder is not included in this kit).

OR if you are in a hurry and want to get makeup done fast – the 4 in 1 pressed mineral makeup does it all in one step. Use a full coverage brush (such as a chisel shaped brush) and apply it all over your face. This is a concealer, foundation, and powder with SPF all in one. If you have super dry skin, you may want to apply a primer or moisturizer first. I actually like the 4 in one pressed mineral makeup the best because it feels the lightest on my skin.

I hope that helps – please let me know if you have any more questions. 🙂

I have not heard of this product before. It sounds like a product I need to try. I have horrible sun spots and need good coverage. Thanks for this review.

Thanks for the honest review. It sounds like a nice kit. The Disappearing Act would probably be helpful for. me; I don’t usually wear foundation though; and I’ve never tried a tinted moisturizer.
