Over the past few seasons, Horny Toad clothing has started to dominate my closet. It all started with a simple Horny Toad shirt that I loved so much I ended up going back and buying another one in the same color so I would always have one ready to wear. Since then, I have added skirts, shorts, yoga pants and dresses. I don’t even hesitate when I am thinking of buying a Horny Toad item because I know I will be pleased with the quality and will stand up to plenty of wear and washing.
The women’s Spring 2013 collection is full of wardrobe essentials that are perfect for any adventure plans you have in the works. The fabric choices are amazing. You’ll find organic cotton, eco-friendly Tencel,soft Modal and Samba (blend of Tencel and organic cotton). A few of my favorite must-have-these pieces include the Muse Dress, Aquifer Long Shorts, Vega Tank and Winsome Skirt.
I am going to have to warn family and friends that they will be seeing me wear the Muse dress ($82) this summer. A LOT. It’s so soft, flowy and comfortable, it is destined to be my favorite go-to dress. Plus, it’s got a flattering cut that looks great on everyone’s body type. A unique feature of this dress is the adjustable drawstring cord on the lower right side that lets create different looks. I just don’t think you can go wrong when you wear the Muse.
Remember how I told you I like to buy more than one of my favorite shirts? I already have two of the Vega tanks in the same color, and I will be going back to add a few of the other colors. This shirt rocks! It’s more of a cap-sleeved type of shirt thanks to the feminine ruched shoulder panels. The Vega Tank ($46) is definitely a wardrobe basic you’ll love.
The lightweight Long Aquifer Shorts ($76) capris are cute enough to wear around town and functional enough to wear on a hiking trip. If you happen to get wet, no worries, these shorts are designed to dry in no time. The shorts have a slight pattern on them that is hard to notice from a distance and in pictures – just a head’s up that these are not one solid color.
The Winsome Skirt ($59) is really like having two of your favorite, most comfortable skirts in one because it is reversible to a different color on the other side. That makes it perfect for light travel, plus I have found that any wrinkles it gets while packed in a pack are fast to fall out.
I am still waiting for our warm spring temperatures to arrive so I can really start wearing my Horny Toad dress and other clothes. But, I did have the chance to sneak in a camping trip to warmer weather over spring break. My Long Aquifer Shorts and Vega Tank kept me looking cute by the campfire:
