Family Activity: Jigsaw Puzzles

First up on our LEGO Jigsaw Puzzle To Do List is the LEGO Rainbow Bricks 1000 piece puzzle. My kids and I decided to get started by sorting the puzzle pieces by color.

Jigsaw puzzles are a fun way to spend family time. To start a new puzzle, we spread all the puzzle pieces out on the dining table. Everyone can pull up a chair and get to work!

Once we got the pieces sorted, we began working on the outer edges. This is our family’s third jigsaw puzzle. We are still learning strategies for how to put puzzles together.

LEGO jigsaw puzzles are a great puzzle pick for my kids. They love LEGO everything, so these colorful puzzles peaked their interest right away.

Follow our puzzle progress…

I’ll be sharing photos of our LEGO jigsaw puzzle progress on Instagram. Follow along at @momfindsout.

TIP: The jigsaw puzzle guide sheet is extremely helpful, so keep it handy while you put your puzzle together!

Once we complete the puzzle, we will have to decide if we want to take it apart OR mount the puzzle on a foam board to hang on the wall.

I think the LEGO Rainbow Bricks puzzle would look awesome hanging in one of the kids’ bedrooms.

We have glued one of our jigsaw puzzles together for a wall hanging. It is fairly simple to do with puzzle glue and foam board. You can see the complete craft directions here at my blog post.

PUZZLE LOVER!! As a single Texas mom and teacher, I often work 12-14 hours a day and when I get off I love to spend time with my family cooking, reading, or playing games. My family loves working on 500+ piece puzzles and strategy board games more than watching TV! We generally start a puzzle from the outside corner pieces/borders first and then work our way into the middle!

I’ve loved doing puzzles since I was a teen, many, many years ago. We still love doing them, especially during less busy times of the year, like the fall & winter or during a pandemic like now. lol
