The sterling silver dots represent the stars from the Ursa Major (Big Dipper) and Ursa Minor (Little Dipper) constellations. In Greek mythology, these constellations tell the story of a mother and child united together for eternity. I think it’s the perfect way to symbolize the eternal love between a mother and her child.

I had to brush up a little on my Greek mythology so I could tell the story of the pendant’s constellations. Just about everyone recognizes the Big Dipper. It has always been one of the easiest constellations for me to find in the sky. The Big Dipper is also pictured on the Alaska state flag, where my family lived for several years and three of my children were born. I remember Alaska every time I see the Big Dipper.
