I’m happy that it’s springtime. I really am. Spring is one of my favorite seasons. I only wish that the onset of spring didn’t mean the onset of my sinus troubles. Every year is different. Some springs seem especially bad for my sinuses. My nose feels stuffy and it’s hard to breathe, and my ears and head ache from sinus pressure. It’s something I learn to deal with year after year.
The times that sinus pressure annoys me the most are when it makes me feel so bad that I miss out on doing things I really want to do. One year, our entire extended family planned a picnic in the park. The weather was beautiful – a perfect spring day. My kids were looking forward to running and playing outside. I was looking forward to spending time with everyone. Then my sinus pain kicked in full force.
My sinus pain can lead to worse issues like a migraine. And that’s exactly what happened on our family picnic day. I felt so horrible that I just wanted to lay down, close my eyes and go to sleep in hopes the pain would be gone when I woke up. My husband and kids were able to go enjoy a nice picnic in the park…without me! I was sad to be left out, but there was no way I would have had a good time thanks to my sinus pain and congestion.
Has sinus pain ever kept you from doing something? What if you could have a do-over on a day when you felt better?

My sinuses got the best of me while on vacation last week and I was miserable. We had to make a run to the store for Sudafed, which is the only thing I can take when it gets this bad.

I too suffer from sinus-induced headaches. I have regularly used Sudafed, but hadn’t heard of this version. Allergy season is starting, may have to pick some up!

Sinus headaches are the worst. I get them often along with migraines and some days I can barely get out of bed.
