Pop Rocks popcorn is a fun treat anytime, but especially around the 4th of July. You’ll find out why in a minute and things will all make sense.
Remember how Pop Rocks candy crackles and pops in your mouth? When you add it to popcorn, the mix will pop and crackle in your mouth. It’s kind of like having fireworks going off in there! Just like the fireworks going off on the Fourth of July.
We really like the sweet and salty flavor combos in this party popcorn. Get the Red, White and Blue theme going for Fourth of July snacks when you use plain (unbuttered) white popcorn sprinkled with Red and Blue Pop Rocks candy. Any other colors of Pop Rocks would work just fine, too.
How to Make Pop Rocks Popcorn
1 bag of plain (white) microwave popcorn, popped
1 square of White Almond Bark, melted (*you can sub melted white chocolate)
2 Pop Rocks candy envelopes (I used Red and Blue)
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, drizzle the melted white almond bark over the popcorn and stir well until popcorn in evenly coated.
2. Stir in Pop Rocks until it is mixed throughout the popcorn.
3. On a baking sheet, spread the popcorn mixture out in a single layer. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes or until almond bark has hardened. Serve.
