Take the Silk Soymilk Challenge

November 22, 2011 by Nicole

Trying Silk soymilk is probably something I would never have done unless Silk asked me to do it — and they did!  The Silk Cereal Bowl campaign is encouraging people to take the Silk soymilk challenge and try Silk instead of milk with their cereal.  Why should we drink Silk instead of dairy milk?  Silk is a heart healthy choice with low saturated fat and no cholesterol.  It also provides 50% MORE CALCIUM than dairy milk.

For me, the health benefits alone meant it was worth a try to see if my family liked it or not.  The best part is that there is a “Love It Guarantee” or your money back. You have nothing to lose when you try Silk!

This past week, my family has been trying a couple of different Silk flavor varieties: Silk Vanilla Soymilk and Silk Chocolate Soymilk.  My main concern about trying Silk was that it would have a weird taste and/or aftertaste.  I don’t know exactly what I was expecting, but I was a very surprised at how good Silk tasted!  There was not anything strange or odd about drinking soymilk.  In fact, it is smooth and creamy with a fresh, great flavor.  The Silk Vanilla was good over cereal, too. The vanilla taste is very light, there is also a Silk Very Vanilla for people who want an even bolder vanilla soymilk.

We all loved the Silk Chocolate. I would even go so far as to say that my children prefer to drink the Silk Chocolate soymilk to dairy milk.  In a typical 2-year-old’s fashion, my toddler has led me to our refrigerator while holding his empty sippy cup so that he could point to exactly what he wanted to drink — the Silk! As for myself, I am still shocked at the fact that I really like to drink it, too.  I say “shocked” because I have loved dairy milk all my life and just can’t believe that I enjoy drinking soymilk as much as I do.  Not only that, but I also compared the facts and found that Silk soymilk is more nutritious than dairy milk.  Silk has less calories, less fat, and less sugar than dairy milk, while having significantly more calcium and Vitamin D.

Silk is All-Natural and Free of Dairy, Lactose, Cholesterol, Eggs, Casein, and MSG. Made in the USA from soybeans grown right here in North America.  Silk is also proud to be verified by the Non-GMO Project.  (Yay for that, too!)

Giveaway Time!

Silk would like to give away a prize package including valuable Silk product coupons, cereal bowl and chicobag to a lucky reader at Mom Always Finds Out.  The cereal bowl is really unique – the special design allows you to keep the milk cold and separate from the cereal until you are ready to eat it, which makes it great for eating healthy on the go!  It also includes a travel spoon (attached).

Giveaway is open to USA residents ages 18 and up.  Ends December 6.  Please use the Rafflecopter entry form below:

I received coupons for Silk products for review purposes, as well as prize pack items listed above in the blog post. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.
