What Do You Get When You Cross a Scooter, Skateboard and a Bike? @SbykeUSA

October 28, 2013 by Nicole

Mom Always Finds Out received the Sbyke P20 for our Sbyke Scooter Review. All opinions expressed are my own. #Sbyke

What do you get when you cross a scooter, skateboard and a bike? Read on and I’ll tell you all about it!

Sbyke p20 Review

I was reading a recent issue of FamilyFun magazine when this photo of a cool scooter/skateboard/bike thing caught my eye. I did not know what I was looking at – all I knew was that it looked really awesome! A quick caption search told me that this was the Sbyke P20. Now that I knew what it was called, I knew that I HAD to get one for my bike-riding, scooter-loving son.

The Sbyke is a cool scooter-skateboard-bike hybrid that was recently honored with FamilyFun’s 2013 Boredom Buster Award!

sbyke review

The people at Sbyke were generously willing to let me review (and giveaway!) an Sbyke here at Mom Always Finds Out. We don’t have a skate park nearby, but my son loves to try new tricks on an Sbyke out on our neighborhood streets and sidewalks. He’s working on learning to jump it. The Sbyke is also perfect for riding the paved trails in our community.

The Sbyke isn’t just for kids – it holds adults up to 220 pounds. That was good news for my husband because he has been spotted riding the Sbyke around our neighborhood now, too. I have even gone for a few spins and think the Sbyke is really fun. I personally like riding the Sbyke better than scooters. I have a lot more control and it’s easier for me to balance on an Sbyke than a scooter. The Sbyke is really responsive to the way you are leaning so it is easy to steer.

Direct quote from my son, Logan: The Sbyke is way better than my bike AND my scooter. (If you knew how much he loves riding his bike and his scooter – you’d know that this statement really means a lot!) Logan also says his favorite thing about the Sbyke is how he can do sharp turns on it.

We shot a quick video of Logan (9 going on 10 years old) learning to ride the Sbyke.

I’m all about keeping my kids active and moving outside. The Sbyke is so cool that every kid in the neighborhood wants a turn on ours. And we get asked, “Where did you GET THAT?” I tell them they can get their own Sbyke at Sbyke.com. I have a feeling these are going to be hot holiday gift ideas for kids.

sbyke review scooter

Every Sbyke comes with a short and a long stem so you can adjust the height as your child grows. We put the shorter stem on ours so it would fit Logan. And just in case you were wondering, the assembly was simple and took less than 15 minutes. The directions and tools you need come in the box, along with cool logo stickers in boy and girl colors. Just be sure to have a bike tire pump handy because you will need to inflate the tire before you can ride your Sbyke for the first time.

I really like one of the official Sbyke videos by Sbyke inventor Brad Wernli. I watched it before we got our Sbyke and it explains all the ways you can experience the Sbyke whether you are 6 years old or 60! It’s sure to get you really excited about your first Sbyke ride. Take a look:

Your son looks like he’s having so much fun playing with the Sbyke! My two son’s are grown but I don’t think that would stop them from trying it out, especially since it holds up to 220 pounds. But if I got one it would be for my granddaughters 🙂

Loved the videos. Always nice to see a product in action and the videos really helped demonstrate the Sbyke’s maneuverability. So much cooler than just riding a bike or a regular scooter and I think the kids would get a lot of exercise on one.

OMG! I mean, this is the most awesom-est (if that is even a word) scooter bike combo I have ever seen.. well, I have never seen one before. LOL! Thanks for sharing and for hosting the giveaway. I would love to win it for my boy. I love how it looks easy for kids to maneuver and that wide floor board so kids’ feet can really get on the board. And I like that it uses a handbreak so it is easy for kids to put the breaks on. Awesome!

My son is dying to have a scooter, but we really don’t have the place to ride one except on the road when we do our bike rides as a family. I think this would be a great combination of a scooter and bike for him. I love this idea a lot! Thanks for telling us about this.

The Sbyke looks so awesome! My family, especially my son, would just love to have one! My son’s two favorite activities are riding his bike and scooter. He would be blown away to see both items in one. I love how much more control the bike wheel on this gives you than just a traditional scooter.

I like the fact that you can adjust the hight and that it holds up to 220 pounds, I would love this I have a disability from polio I am very limited to where I can go, no Six Flags, no Opryland because I cannot walk it but with the Sbyke P20 , I could go places again

  37. Kelly Amos says

    November 2, 2013 at 9:51 am

I absolutely love that this sbyke can be used by the entire family depending on the size you choose. The size options are great for those with little ones as well as older kids.
