Genesis Archery Supplies For Kids

November 17, 2015 by Nicole

This post brought to you by Genesis Bows. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Mom Always Finds Out.

About a year ago, my fifth grader came home beyond excited about something that was happening at his school. They were starting a youth archery program through the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). Their school is now in the second year of teaching Archery during school hours, and they even have an after school Archery Club meeting once a week. From what I have seen, the teachers and kids really enjoy the archery program. archery practice Archery is a fast-growing sport and hobby for people of all ages and athletic abilities.Genesis Bows are a great choice for beginners. Archery practice improves hand-eye coordination and balance, plus increases patience and focus. I have personally seen it give kids a greater connection to the outdoors.

My own kids enjoyed archery so much at school that our family ended up taking up archery as a hobby. We like to go to our local archery range together. We take our bow on camping trips and set up targets for practice in remote areas.

We recently got a Genesis Bow, arrows and an archery target. That’s the basic archery supplies you need to set up a backyard archery range. If you set up a home range, you’ll first need to check your local city/county bow ordinances to make sure it is permitted. Safety is the most important thing, so be sure everyone is aware of target practice safety rules and provide constant supervision. Genesis Bow

I totally surprised my boys with the custom Genesis Bow, which I ordered online at Genesis Build-a-Bow. I picked the Genesis Original Bow because it is the official bow of NASP® – used by over 2 million kids annually in 13,000+ schools. This bow has up to a 30″ draw length so it fits just about anyone. The draw weights adjust from 10 to 20 pounds, so it’s easy for all ages and sizes to shoot. I have three boys (ages 6, 8, and 12) who can use this bow. My kids will never outgrow this bow! Even my husband and I can use it.

The Genesis Build-a-Bow shop lets you customize the look of your bow with a wide variety of color options. I surprised my kids with an Original Bow that is mostly White Camo. I knew they would love it – they are big fans of camo colors. The Original Build-a-Bow includes the option to “Make It a Kit” in a kit complete with bow, belt tube quiver, adjustable arm guard and five aluminum arrows. That’s what we did. Archery Practice Archery is a fun family activity and the Genesis Archery website makes it easy to get all the archery supplies you need to get started. A Genesis Bow is the perfect introductory bow and makes an exciting holiday gift. It arrives already completely put together – no assembly is necessary. You will want to adjust the draw weight as necessary with an Allen Wrench. It is really simple to make adjustments and the directions are included.

The Genesis Original, Mini, and Pro-X Bows are available in a kit with all the accessories you need to get started. Shop Genesis Bows.

NASP is a new addition to our school. This year is the first year. My son has never been interested in any school activity or school in general but, this got thru to him…. He was so excited. For weeks we went thru the 11 acrchery steps and attended the after school practices. After it was all said and done, he made the team! I think the fact that Genesis Archery is a platinum sponsor of NASP says a lot about the company. Did you know that  763 schools participated in the 2015 NASP National Tournament? IN fact, they broke a world record for the largest archery tournament!!! Imagine how many children have been positively affected by this. I know my son has… and it’s a beautiful thing.

Hi Christy – That is such a great story about how the NASP archery program in schools has had such a positive effect on your son. I can totally relate to it, too. My sons have both taken up archery as a direct result of NASP and I’m hoping they will be able to compete next spring. I recently learned that there are college scholarship opportunities through archery as well. I hope more and more schools are able to add this program to their curriculum. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. –Nicole
