Flossing just got a lot easier for the kids at my house. We started using Plackers Kids Flossers. I have partnered with Plackers to tell you how their kids flossers have helped my kids how learn to floss.
Colorful Plackers Flossers are dental floss on a dual grip handle designed to make flossing easy for kids of all ages. The flossers come in kid-friendly flavors like Fruit Smoothie Swirl. The bright colors are fun and help motivate kids to want to use floss after brushing.
Plackers Flossers Make Flossing Easier
Why do kids need to floss?
Flossing is an important healthy habit for everyone, even kids. Floss removes plaque and food from tight spaces in between teeth that toothbrushes miss. Flossing helps reduce tooth decay and promotes healthier gums.
When do kids need to start flossing?
Dentists recommend flossing for kids as soon as a child has two teeth that are touching. Most kids reach this milestone years before they are able to floss by themselves. Parents love Plackers Kids Flossers because they make it easier to floss their child’s teeth. I think flossers are much easier to use with kids than traditional dental floss.
I put a Plackers Flosser Friend on the bathroom counter to hold our flossers. My kids are much more likely to floss their teeth when their flossers are within reach. Plus, the Plackers Flosser Friend is a good visual reminder that they need to floss.
Kids that develop a flossing habit early in life are more likely to floss as adults.
I am always looking for new ways to encourage my four boys to take care of their teeth. To me, flossing is one of the hardest things to get them to do. Brushing their teeth and rinsing with mouthwash are two healthy dental habits we work on every day. Flossing makes three.
Instead of asking my kids, Did you brush, floss and use mouthwash today?, I started asking them, Did you do the Triple Threat? Triple Threat means that they have done three things to fight cavities: 1) Brushed their teeth 2) Flossed teeth and 3) Rinsed with mouthwash.
For some reason, the Triple Threat concept went over really well with my kids. Maybe it’s because they are boys and like how powerful it sounds for them to be a Triple Threat to something. I really don’t know why it caught on, but I plan to use the Triple Threat question for as long as it works.
Sometimes one of the kids will come out of the bathroom and say, “I did the Triple Threat!” so we all high five him and make a big deal about it. Plackers flossers have made it easier for my kids to become a Triple Threat to cavities.
My 6-year-old can use Plackers flossers pretty well all by himself. I have to help my 4-year-old out with flossing, but he likes to floss his front teeth all by himself. I let him practice flossing with the flossers.
My older kids (ages 8 and 12) used to skip flossing their teeth because they didn’t like to take the time to do it. I also think that using traditional string dental floss was a bit hard for them. Plackers kids flossers are much easier for them to use and they can get the job done a lot faster. That alone makes them more likely to floss their teeth every day.
The Plackers floss is designed so it won’t stretch, shred or break, and includes fluoride to promote strong teeth and reduce tooth decay. Give Plackers Flossers a try with your child. Learn more about Plackers products and dental health tips when you follow Plackers Dental on Facebook.

My kids always use flossers. They have a hard time with regular dental floss. These look super to try.

I wonder if these would work with dd’s teeth! We can’t really floss her teeth because they are SOOO close together that we can’t get floss between them. I don’t know how they do it at the dentist!

Hi Amanda, Give flossers a try. They make it easier to work in small spaces and your fingers don’t get in the way. Good luck!

I think dental health is important because it can affect other parts of your body like your heart
