Is it Star Wars movie night at your house? Serve Star Wars smoothies! Everyone will love this delicious Orange Creamsicle Smoothie inspired by everyone’s favorite new Star Wars droid, BB-8! Whip up this easy smoothie recipe in your blender with just a few simple ingredients.
My family had a Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie night and these smoothies were part of of our Star Wars party food. Everyone loves the cute BB-8 droid, so I decided to make BB-8 inspired snacks and smoothies.
I took one of our favorite copycat Orange Julius recipes and gave it a Star Wars BB-8 makeover. It was simple to do (see for yourself, the recipe directions are below.) My kids said they could tell their Orange Creamsicle Smoothie was made to remind them of BB-8. I did this by using BB-8’s main colors (orange, white, black and silver.) The kids all thought our creamy orange juice smoothies tasted really good, too.
Be sure that your blender is good at crushing ice so you don’t end up with big chunks of ice in your smoothie. I used my Ninja Pro because it is a good blender for making smoothies with ice. You’ll also want to get extra wide smoothie straws for easier sipping. I found large orange straws that worked perfectly for our BB-8 inspired smoothies.
Once your smoothie is blended and poured into serving cups, it’s ready to decorate like BB-8. I recommend using clear cups or glasses so that the main orange color of the smoothie really shows.
Add more of BB-8’s colors to the orange smoothies by putting whipped cream and a blackberry on top! Then, sprinkle shiny silver jimmies on to look like metallic droid parts. (Tip: Look for silver jimmies in your store’s wedding section.)
