Add Missouri to Your Vacation Bucket List!

May 11, 2013 by Nicole 6 Comments

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Missouri Division of Tourism for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Which state has 51 State Parks, 5 Major professional sports teams, 100+ wineries, and some of the best barbeque in the world? If you said “Missouri,” then you are about ten steps ahead of me because I never would have guessed it…but it is all true! The “Show Me” State has a TON of amazing destinations, activities and attractions to show us all.

My family loves a great road trip – and we need to add Missouri to our vacation bucket list! In fact, it may take us quite a few trips to Missouri to do and see everything we want.

Missouri is a great destination for anyone who loves The Great Outdoors. There are trails for hiking and biking, lakes for fishing, caves for exploring, rivers for floating and even the world’s largest freshwater scuba diving resort (Bonne Terre Mine). And that is not all!

If you are more a fan of The Great Indoors, there are dozens of world class museums and galleries to visit, tons of shopping (outlet malls galore), and restaurants. Not to mention the American Jazz Museum, which is located in Kansas City. Or you can Discover Branson, the Largest Live Music Capital of the world!

I planned out a 4 day trip itinerary with some of the activities I think my family would enjoy doing the most while we were in Missouri. Believe me, it is hard to narrow things down. There is so much we would want to go and do! Would you enjoy doing any (or all) of these?

Day One: Floating Current River Van

Day Two: Take Family Picture in front of the Gateway Arch, then go eat some world famous Barbeque!

Day Three: Visit one of the 3 major amusement parks – gotta do something for the kids while we are here! The adults can enjoy it, too.

Day Four: Go to a Cardinals baseball game in Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

I never thought about Visiting Missouri as a vacation, but the picture of the water is breathtaking. In the summer, it would be a great place to take a family vacation.

A scuba diving resort sounds amazing right now! It is really bad weather here but would love to enjoy it. I have never been to Missouri!

Great review of Missouri! I’d honestly never thought about vacationing there, but my family loves the outdoors so I’m sure we’d like it.

I have only seen a small part of Missouri (Kansas City side), but it definitely is a beautiful state and I look forward to seeing more of it some day.
