Organic Veggie Dip made with Greek Yogurt

April 29, 2014 by Nicole

As part of Finish Power & Free Alliance of Moms, I received products and compensation in exchange for this blog post. Regardless, all thoughts and opinions are honest and my own.

save money on organic groceries

My family’s health is important to me. I think that eating natural and organic foods is better for us. So even though we have a tight grocery budget, I try to buy natural and organic products whenever possible. Three of my favorite ways to save money on organic food are to:

  1. Shop local farmer’s markets to buy in season produce
  2. Stock up on nonperishable organic items when they go on sale
  3. Make things at home instead of buying pre-made products

Coupons can be a nice way to save money on groceries, but natural and organic coupons can be pretty rare. How does your family save on natural and organic items?

I am learning that if I want my family to eat healthy foods, I have to make them available and easily accessible. My kids think it is fun when I put together a quick veggie tray that includes our favorite veggie dip made with Greek yogurt. I can save money by making our own veggie dip instead of buying a pre-made organic dip. The dip takes just a couple of minutes to make – but tastes best after a couple hours in the refrigerator.

veggie dip recipe

Easy Organic Veggie Dip made with Greek Yogurt

  • 1 (16 oz.) container plain organic Greek Yogurt
  • 1 envelope organic Ranch dressing mix

Just combine the Greek yogurt and dressing mix in a bowl. Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour, and it’s ready for your veggies!

For some reason my kids seem to eat more veggies when I arrange them into shapes. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy – see, my carrots are made out of … carrots!

finish quantum

The healthier choices I make for my family include everything from the foods we eat to the types of cleaning products we use. I like to choose products that are less harsh on the environment. Finish Power & Free is a new line of dishwashing products featuring dishwasher detergent that contains no chlorine bleach, and uses less fragrances and dyes versus regular Finish detergents. I feel like these products are a safer choice for my family.

Because Finish Power & Free products are less harsh, they can be used with baby products, like Nuk brand pacifiers and bottles. If you are like me, you love to toss baby items into the dishwasher to be sanitized. Quantum Power & Free dishwasher detergent does not contain chemicals like chlorine bleach – so babies can enjoy clean bottles and moms don’t have to worry.

finish jet dry

I have been using the Finish Quantum Power & Free detergent along with the Finish Jet-Dry Power & Free for the past few months. Even my dirtiest dishes come out clean! And I have noticed a huge difference in my clear glasses. They sparkle and shine because of the Jet-Dry Power & Free.

Do you have a dishwasher? What detergent do you use? Are you looking for ways to get a powerful clean without so many harsh chemicals? What do you think about Finish Power & Free products?

I’m glad you used organic ingredients. So many scary chemicals and ingredients in our foods. This will be a great recipe to have ready in the fridge for after school snacks.

The easier it is to prepare, the more likely we are to eat healthy.

    Great post!

This is such a quick and easy recipe, when they’re that easy, I find it encouraging to eat fresh at home rather than going out for some quick food. We frequent farmer’s markets at least twice a week through the season, you can’t beat the flavor and freshness.
