Simple & Inexpensive At-Home Spa: Epsom Salt Foot Soak Recipe

July 16, 2011 by Nicole

One of my favorite ways to relax is to pamper myself, but I don’t like to spend money on expensive spa treatments.   I recently discovered the magic of Epsom Salt and ways to create at-home spa treatments that cost PENNIES!

Epsom Salt Council

Epsom Salt has a lot of spa-worthy qualities.  It is known for its ability to:

  • Soften Skin
  • Soothe Achy Muscles
  • Reduce swelling/inflammation
  • Ease Stress
  • Gently Exfoliate Skin

EPSOM SALT FOOT SOAK RECIPE

Mix half a cup of Epsom Salt with 2 quarts of very warm water until dissolved.  Soak feet for 10 minutes or as long as desired.  Rinse with tap water and dry.

Tips:

  • Add a couple drops of lavender oil for a relaxing effect OR Add a couple of drops of peppermint oil for a rejuvenating effect.
  • After soaking, take a small handful of Epsom Salts and gently massage rough skin to exfoliate.

An Epsom Salt foot soak works so well at making my tired feet feel better and softer that it is hard to believe it costs practically nothing! Epsom Salt can easily be found in grocery stores and drugstores.  Visit the Epsom Salt Council to learn more spa worthy ways to use Epsom Salt for a facial, pedicure, bath soak, summer skin care and more.

Disclaimer:  I received Epsom Salt samples, recipes, and information from the Epsom Salt Council.  All opinions expressed are 100% my own, based on personal experience(s) with the product.

Hey! Do you know if they make any plugins to assist with Search
Engine Optimization? I’m trying to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords but I’m not seeing very good success.

If you know of any please share. Cheers!

Good review of the epsom salt products. I had no idea that I could recreate spa products so easily. I am a new fan of your blog. I am following you via GFC and Networked Blogs.
