Printable Spring Cleaning Checklist plus Spring Cleaning Tips

March 4, 2016 by Nicole

Spring Cleaning is not as intimidating as it sounds. I look at it like I’m doing my regular cleaning chores, but going the extra mile to do it better. For example, instead of just doing my usual 2-second waving of the dusting wand around items on shelves, Spring Cleaning means I actually take the items off the shelves to do a more thorough dust job.

Going the extra mile to get a spring clean home also means cleaning areas I’ve been neglecting…places like baseboards, windows and underneath the furniture. I have partnered with Home Depot to share my Spring Cleaning Checklist and a few tips to make house cleaning organized and easy.

Spring Cleaning Checklist (1)

I don’t just wait for springtime to roll around to deep clean my house. I try to Spring Clean at least a few times throughout the year – especially if my mom is coming to town for a visit. She’s a stickler for cleanliness, but thank goodness she understands what it’s like to try keeping a spotless house when you have children at home. For me, it’s nearly impossible. My house can get clean – the real trick is getting it to stay clean for longer than 15 minutes when my boys are around!

Just like everyone else, I love a clean home, but I don’t want to spend all my time cleaning. I use this Spring Cleaning Room By Room Checklist to get my house top to bottom clean in no time. Click on the image below to download and print my Spring House Cleaning Checklist for yourself.

The Right Cleaners Get the Job Done Faster.

My chores are easier when I use a multi-purpose cleaner. It’s really convenient when one cleaner can be used on multiple surfaces. Find a cleaner that can be used to do a variety of jobs from mopping floors to cleaning bathtubs and kitchen counters. Pine-Sol Multi-Surface Cleaner gets bonus points for cleaning and deodorizing at the same time. I like it when my home looks and smells clean.

I finally figured out that I don’t have to spend all day scrubbing away at yucky toilet stains. I use Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner Clinging Bleach Gel to dissolve tough stains and brighten the toilet bowl. My family includes four boys, which means I really have to clean every nook and cranny in and around our toilets. The Clorox gel makes my job a lot easier because I can aim the cleaner exactly where I need it to go. It kills 99.9% of germs and my toilets actually sparkle when I’m done with them.

Once all the cleaning is done, the real trick is keeping my home feeling fresh in between deeper cleanings. Disinfecting wipes are perfect for those kinds of touch ups. I like to keep a canister of Clorox Wipes in every bathroom and next to the kitchen sink for everyday quick cleaning.

Find all of the cleaning products I mentioned above, plus everything else you need to Spring Clean your house for less at Home Depot. Save even more time when you shop Home Depot online and pick up in store (free!)

Oh, it’s so easy to manage the spring cleaning with a checklist to follow! I suppose I should start the clean up already, enough procrastination… The thought that I have to re-paint the walls in my living room before that is the thing that keeps me from starting I guess.. Still, thanks for the checklist, printed it already! Best wishes, Paula!

Good luck on re-painting the walls! That’s a huge project by itself. Thank you for printing the checklist, hope that you will find it useful once it’s time to start cleaning. 🙂 –Nicole

Lists like this make all the daunting tasks seem not quite so daunting and a bit easier since I can see the progress. Thanks for posting it.

You know, I always seem to forget that Home Depot has cleaning supplies. I am in there every two weeks or so and it just slips my mind. Picking things up there would save a trip.

A checklist makes it seem much less daunting than envisioning an entire house to clean. Thanks for this!

Hi Courtney, I’m so glad to help. I love lists, and completely agree that it seems less daunting when tasks are broken down room by room. Good luck with your spring cleaning! 🙂 Nicole
